A cybersecurity expert explains Log4shell - the new vulnerability that affects computer worldwide.

Recently, a security firm named Vupen has uncovered a flaw in Microsoft software that could affect almost every Windows user on the planet. The flaw is called Log4shell and it's not just an attack on one operating system but rather a vulnerability that exists within Microsoft’s current operating system (Windows 10). For those who are unfamiliar with this issue, here's what you need to know; if you're using Windows 10, there is a vulnerability on your computer wirelessly connecting to hackers over the Internet.

The problem is that Microsoft does not allow people to disable the feature that allows a device to connect to an Internet connection without the user’s permission and the only way to fix this is to update your Operating System and install a patch. Since Microsoft is new to the security scene and their latest software release comes with a bit of controversy, they're not allowing just anyone on Windows 10 (at least you can't by default) have this patch applied automatically. So you have to go online, find users who have already applied the patch, privately message them and ask them if they'll send you their link in order for you to get it installed yourself.
